About Traisto

Traisto is a small workshop, but mostly, it’s my creative sanctuary.
Located in Nafplio, under the castle and beside the park, it’s where weaving, natural dyes, beeswax candles, photography, and more come to life.

I am Fotini Konstantinopoulou, the craftswoman behind Traisto.

I studied economics and used to work in Athens until my partner and I decided to completely change our lives and become organic farmers in a small village in Eastern Crete. We started cultivating olive trees and herbs.
My love for the soil and plants quietly showed me the way.

I began weaving. And when you start weaving, natural dyes are just around the corner, if you’re open to seeing them.

We also kept beehives and that’s when I fell in love with beeswax and began making hand-dipped candles.

After nearly a decade, the circle of Crete came to a close, and we moved to my hometown, Nafplio, to create this workshop.

We still care for our olive groves in Crete, so life flows between the two places.
Crete for grounding. Nafplio for making.

When Traisto came into being, I realised how all the threads of my life, even the ones that once felt unrelated, had come together.

I wanted to offer not just handmade pieces, but objects with their own character, their own quiet energy. Pieces made with care, that might bring warmth, beauty, and a little sense of ritual to someone’s home, wardrobe, or daily rhythm.

Traisto is a space to stay true to myself, to nature, to a slower way of creating.
I’d love to meet anyone who wishes to visit.
I also share what I know through workshops, because I believe knowledge is meant to be shared.

Traisto is an old word for a woven feedbag, from my father’s village in Arcadia, and for some reason, ever since I first heard the word, it stayed with me. I kept it for this space as a quiet link between my roots and how I choose to work slowly in the present.

Thank you for being here!
